Question:
Will I absorb Celexa the same amount after surgery?
I have been taking Celexa for depression for over a year (and loving it!). After surgery, will I be able to stay on the same dosage and still have it absorb enough? — emilyfink (posted on March 8, 2002)

I have been on Celexa for 18 months, I love it too, and was on it while in
the hospital and ever since I came home from the hospital on Jan.18, 2002.
I haven't had any adjustment to my dosage either. My PCP never even
mentioned adjusting it.

I was on anti-depressants before surgery and during my hospital stay. I am
10 months out and doing just fine.

I have been on Celexa for quite some time myself and this is also a concern
of mine. I thought you might like to know that I talked to a Psychiatrist
the other day who said that Celexa is one of only 4 antidepressants that
comes in liquid form. We both agreed that this would be easier to absorb
than crushing the pills. Hope this helps.
