Question:
Am I eating too much?
Hi Everyone: I am 6 1/2 mos post op and am wondering if I am eating too much. Breakfast was 3/4 cup of Soy cereal w/ 1/2 cup of low fat milk, 2 crackers w/peanutbutter for mid morning snack, 2 pieces of fat free ham for lunch with 1 oz of cheese...lots of water during the day and for dinner I had 1/2 of a steak and cheese quesadilla & a lemonade. Is this too much or have I just reached the point that I can now eat more?????? I am almost freaked out over the fact that I can eat so much....IS THIS NORMAL OR AM I COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL.....????? — Joi G. (posted on February 23, 2002)

Joi, I'm only 5 months post-op, but your food situation sounds normal to
me. Everyone can eat more as time goes on. It sounds like you are easily
eating less than 1000 calories a day. I just watch carbs, sugars, and make
sure I don't drink with meals. It's working for me... down 115 from 310 to
195! :-) Hang in there.

you sound just like me. i am 6 mos post op. I think we really need to be
afraid of carbohydrates. I am definitely concerned. Will be seeing my
surgeon on tuesday and will ask for help.

I am not quite 3 months out, and have been able to eat about that much for
some time. I asked the doc, and he said it's normal. Some pouches are
smaller than others. If you are losing weight, I wouldn't worry too much
about it. Slow down your eating and you'll eat less and get that full
feeling!
