Question:
Iced White Mocha

Ok, so this is NOT the best thing to be indulging in, but to tell the truth, I am and have.... so there is no need to shake a finger at me, just skip my post. What I am trying to do is to figure out a way to make it WLS-acceptable. Perhaps one of you has been expirimenting with your own coffee drinks and have come up with one that is not so high in sugar or carbs. Please share it with us, or if one of you know the nutritional value of it "as is" from a coffee vendor (like Starbucks) please share (amounts, carbs, sugars etc.).... I am sure they are using white chocolate syrup or powder. I have searched around the web and cannot find anything!    — Karen R. (posted on January 28, 2002)

I bought a thunder stick hand blender shortly before my surgery. You can make the best coffee drinks with it. I just add a few instant coffee grains and whip it with water and splenda. Then if you whip skim milk with the thunder stick it turns into this delicious cool whip like topping that I dump on top. I use Gevalia french vanilla coffee for that delicious flavouring! There are also some sugar free coffee flavour syrups that you can buy. I hope this might help... Good Luck and stay on track! :)

Go to www.davincigourmet.com They have a White Chocolate Sugar Free syrup. I make iced coffee protein drinks for myself ALL the time. Use cold coffee, a scoop of protein powder, a splash of sugar free syrup, blend up, then throw in ice, blend some more... YUMMY!

I make decaf coffee. let it cool down, and mix in sugar free chocolate syrup, or French vanilla creamer along with my Isopure vanilla protein powder. makes a nice healthy thick coffee shake. very delicious!

I just tried search for sugar free white chocolate syrup and I found this site: http://www.gourmet-coffee.net/ and their syrup ( which is daVinci!) made with Splenda. When I was searching another daVinci site, they made no reference to sugar free- so I kind of dropped them from my mind. If I can make it as good as the coffee people can- I will definitly do so.... and Scott- I NEED the caffiene :)- I will let you know what the syrup tastes like.

Just wanted to add a note about caffeine. If you feel like you have to have it, just make sure you are getting extra water. The caffeine is a diuretic, so you need to make up for that.

Yeah, I do drink extra because of it. Just a note, DaVinci is cheaper than the other place... so I ordered from them.

I'm so glad I saw your question. I'm 1 week out and was thinking I'd never have my cappacino again. Thanks

If you must have a mocha, order a non-fat, sugar free vanilla decaf. At Starbucks, a double will run you around $3.00--I live in the Pacific NW where we have the big green giant on EVERY street corner, and if it isn't there, someone else is! you might also want to try the above without the shot, try a sugar-free syrup in a coffee flavor instead! The regular mochas have massive amounts of sugar, fat and caffeine.

Here in Southern California there is a Coffee Bean on every corner. I buy their pre made low fat, no suagr added Ice Blended powder. They have it in French Vanilla and Chocolate. YUMMY. You just add a scoop of the powder, cofee extract (they sell that too), skim milk and ice you've got a delicious coffee shake. It's their best selling drink. You can get it at http://coffeebean.com. They even sell it as a kit on their site with no suagr added. This way, you can decide how much coffee you want to add with the extract if you are sensitive as well.

adding my coffee drink since everyone else is.. mocha cappuccino protein powder, strong coffee (I pour about 1/2 to 1/4 cup of coffee over coffee beans and let it sit for awhile, then strain) splenda.. and some farm rich fat free creamer, all proportions to your taste.. sometimes I add a sugar free syrup in there.. or not.. it IS good...

I usually order lattes with skim milk, or make them myself and use white chocolate syrup. I order syrups from www.vitalady.com... good deals.
