Question:
I would like to know if boost high protein drink is appropiate for post op drink?
I have tried it and have not dumped from drinking it. — lionette J. (posted on January 14, 2002)

Boost is high in sugar. You may be like me and not dump from sugar but it
doesn't mean it's ok to drink. Only thing that makes me dump is if I eat
to fast or deap fried foods. I was also checking the boost out this
weekend and saw that they have one that is low in sugar that might work. I
am curious myself to see what others have to say because I haven't found a
protein drink I can tolerate yet.
Thanks for asking this question.

Boost is way too high in sugar and calories for the amount of protein you
get. I guess it's better than nothing but it will probably deter your
weight loss rather than boost (no pun intended) it. Check with
vitalady.com or [email protected] or GNC for good tasting, low sugar/calorie
protein supplements. There's tons available. GOOD LUCK!

My doctor recommends high protein boost while on the liquid stage. It has
15 grams of protein.

I dumped for the first time post-op when I tried it! I think if you can
tolerate it, then it is a good idea, though, because you need that protein
