Question:
can vitamins be crushed and blended with instant breakfast with no bad consequences ?
I am taking flintstones but also B 12, calcium , vit c and zinc. Instead of trying to take the extra 4 by conventional means I have been crushing and blending with instant breakfast. Is this a no no or is it a ok thing to do.? I am worried about getting in my vitamins and figured this would be the easiest way but now I am worried about malabsorption etc. — janicediana (posted on January 4, 2002)

Yes. My Dr. Told me to do this, or blend it with some fruit.

Yes this what you are doing is healthy but isn't your drink bitter? If
it's not good but at the beginning I took whole vitamins and wasn't
irritated ( I think that's why you crush them because they are too big ).
It is usually best to stick with the status quo. I know you'll still
absorb them.

I was as concerned as you seem to be, so I started looking for a liquid
vitamin that I could tolerate and that had everything I needed to stay
healthy. I finally found one for a decent price that my doctor just thinks
is wonderful because not only does it have the vitamins we need, it also
has all the trace minerals we can't always get with the diet we are on, and
it has all the essential amino acids (protiens broken down to their basic
chemicals) that help us tremendously with our protien problem. The amino
acids help prevent hair loss, also!! Hereis the website where I found the
best price for the best liquid I could find (I spent literally weeks
researching this!!). Good luck and stay healthy!! (BTW - this liquid
actually tastes GOOD!! I was surprised!). :)
