Question:
Has anyone been able to resume taking Vioxx post-op?
I am 3 weeks post-op and feel great except that the knee pain I had pre-surgery has reappeared. I will be contacting my pcp, but just curious if it's possible I can take it post-op. — Aloha D. (posted on December 2, 2001)

My surgeon said I can continue taking it. :) However I lost so much
weight the first 10 days that I did'nt need it anymore! :)

I never took it preop, but hurt my knee last year playing soccer
(who'd a thought I could say that 2 years ago?) and my PCP
called my surgeon to ask what I could take- Vioxx was it!
Works better than Tylenol:)

Yes, I took Vioxx preop and now post op. I took it for over a year preop
and now I am 4 months post op. It definately works. My surgeon approved
my taking it with no problem. Take Care.

I was taking Vioxx pre-op and was instructed to continue taking it up
through the morning of surgery. I'm now 2 weeks post-op and I have been
taking it since day 3 post-op. I am taking the 50 mg dosage so it is a
larger pill. I cut it into pieces to make sure it will go down.
