Question:
Why do I vomit every time I eat any type of food?
Every time I vomit it is always white foam or clear thick saliva type fluid. My NP does not seem very worried, but I am tired of eating and it never staying down. I would like to know when this will end or if I need a second opinion. Thank you for any help. — Lindsay J. (posted on October 23, 2001)

Sounds to me like you have a stricture! I just had mine repaired last
week. What a difference it has made. I'd tell your nurse, surgeon or PCP
that you would like an endoscopy. My symptoms were the same as yours.
Good Luck.

Hi Lindsey: I agree with Kristen....call your surgeon..I had the same
thing happening and had a partial closing...get to the dr..don't wait like
I did till I was completely zapped of all my energy. My surgeon said that
that threw me almost a full month behind in my recovery...Call your
dr....this is not normal....

I am 6+ months from a rny and have that thick mucous at least 1 time per
week. Dr doesn't know why this happens just that it does to some of his
patients. Once I have vomited this thick mucous I am much better and can
eat something. There is no telling when it will happen but I have been
avoiding breakfast for about 3 months because of this problem. It just is
not worth starting the day that way. I am going back for a post-op visit
next monday and plan to consider endoscopy to see if there is a correctable
problem in there.
