Question:
Has any one had a breast reduction after the surgery?
I am 2 1/2 years post op and have lost the weight I am going to. The problem I have is I am still quite busty and wondered if any one has had a breast reduction after the surgery. And was it sucessfull. or is it not recommended. I still get back aches, and I am sagging since the surgery. — chris M. (posted on March 28, 2000)

Hi Chris, funny you post this...I went to talk to my plastic surgeon about
a tummy tuck and a breast "lift" and to my great amazement, he
told me I would have to have a breast reduction. I have lost well over a
100 pounds and still wear a D cup. Although, I never considered myself, at
this size, to be overly big chested. When I weighed 250 pounds, my breasts
were huge. I still have problems associated w/ my larger-than-normal
breast, but having had them for so long I never thought twice about THEM
actually being the problem until my plastic surgery consult. I am hoping
to have them reduced and lifted soon...And to rid myself of the problems
associated w/ being big breasted. I just wanted to let you know, you
aren't the only one out there =) Good Luck, Marni

Boy, I guess we each have our crosses to bare. I have the opposite problem
as I have no chest left. It was the first to go. My girlfriend had breast
reduction surgery and looks great now. I say do whatever makes you feel
better. Hope all goes well. If I had the money, I would have a breast
augmentation!
Good luck to you,

Hi Chris, I'm sorry I'm not gonna be much help at this time with answering
your question, but I'd like to stay in touch with you so we can share info
with each other along the way. You see I too am planning to have breast
reduction surgery. I have my first consult May 4th with a plastic surgeon.
I have no doubt that I qualify or fit the criteria for my ins to cover
this, my only drawback at this time may be that I need to loose more weight
before they'll do it, but I'll find that out May 4th. I'm 6mos. post-op,
down
-135lbs., but still have another 125+lbs. to go, at that point I'll go for
the TT. Take care, Debi :) my email is: [email protected]

Hello! I am 3 years post op (today) and have lost close to 100lbs. I have
always had large breasts, and even with the weight loss, was still quite
uncomfortable with the size (DD). I had a reduction almost 4 months ago
and I haven't regretted it for a minute! I am now a 38C, something I
haven't seen since high school (I'm 45). The recovery time is very minimal
and I experienced little pain. As an added plus, they are now lifted and
for lack of a better work, "perky"....something they NEVER were.
I suffered from a bad back, sore neck, and the weight loss made them sag.
My doctor provided documentation and pictures to my HMO and I was approved
with no problem. The key is to find a good plastic surgeon you trust.
Good luck!
