Question:
At 3.5 mos p/o, I am wondering if I'm eating too much.....
I am down 62 pounds, feeling great, can eat most things actually. Breakfast is oatmeal w/ banana or lately protein shake then a banana mid-morning. Lunch is l/2 sandwich and fruit, mid-afternoon fruit or popcorn, dinner is about 2 oz of meat, one or two vegees or perhaps pasta w/ meatballs (about 3/4 cup)and I'm drinking about 100-150 oz of water daily. I'm beginning to have some hair loss so I'm pushing protein and sip Extreme Pure Pro w/ iced tea or crystal lite all day. A member here helped me find a good protein that I like so I do the shake in AM usually but also in evening if I'm craving on occasion. What do any of you think? — AJC750 (posted on July 24, 2002)

That sounds like more than I ate at 3.5 months BUT it still sounds OK! You
are eating good food in small, frequent meals and your weight loss is
great. If you are worried about the size of your pouch, you could do the
cottage cheese test. I was really worried and when I tested mine I found it
was right on schedule.

this is hard to say because all of us have diff size pouches, diff types
surgery and, our work is different. Also some of us burn the calories
easier than others. I think yours sounds good if you are comfortable. I am
7 mo out i've lost over 90# and I can hold an easy 2 cups ...if im real
hungry. Usually though its like 1 cup of soup and 1/2 sandwitch then later
a banana yadda...but..hey whatever works for YOU. I tried the under 800
calorie thing like some people do and i was just too hungry. I can easily
eat 1500 cals on days im walking and using the gazelle. Anyhow, your trying
to eat right, and thats whats important. If you have trouble getting
protein down you CAN TRY THAT PROTENEX but i want to warn you..its slimey ,
orangy tasting, and 2 TABLESPOONS ONLY HAS..15 grms of protein and 60
calories. I'd just as soon drink a 150 cal. carnation instant (SF)
breakfast and get 14 grms or more of protein (if i add extra instant
milk)and its NOT YUCKEY LOL have a great day
