Question:
I have to force myself to eat
I had lap rny 11/30/01, I've lost 111 lbs but I really have no desire to eat, esp during the day. I don't usually get my protein in and I definitely don't get my fruit, veggies, carbs or dairy in. I've tried all the protein supplements and they all my me sick. I drink lots of fluids and excersise regularly but I'd be perfectly happy to not eat at all, which is what happens most weekends.I actually feel better when I don't eat. I would appreciate any comments or suggestions. Thanks in advance, your friend in WLS. — lunakitty (posted on June 21, 2002)

Hi I have suffered the same thing you are going through. I have to make
myself eat. I don't get in my required protein level most days. Sometimes
I do good to get in 20-30 grams. I drink about that many ounces a day too.
Then other days. I want to eat alot and drink alot. I think that for me
where I live it is the heat. Or I should say the weather. I have lost
around 99 lbs. And I know I could do better if I could just up the protein
and all that. Unlike you, I have found a protein drink that I love. IT is
called Carb Solutions I buy it at Walmart. It is alot cheaper than most
brands. I pay 4.97 for a pack of four. It comes in chocolate, vanilla,
and cappucino. I have only tried the chocolate. It is delicious. Good
luck and god bless. OPEN RNY 10/4/01 -99lbs and counting. BTC in OH, Dr.
Christopher Kaczmarski. Thanks Doc!!!!! You are the BEST!!!!!!

I was the Queen of gagging & throwing up protein supplements. I spent
hundreds of dollars and wasted a lot of time on them. Try this one &
they will send ya a free sample, too. I buy the 30 gm. packets of liquid
protein from vita 4 life, http://www.vita4life.net and I take my 20 oz.
water bottle, pour a couple inches off the top & add 1 packet of the
honey flavor liquid protein, then I add an inch or two of
flat-diet-orange-soda. I start sipping that first thing in the mornings.
Often, I drink two a day :-) PLUS the proteins I get from food.

I'm feel the exact same way. About the first 3 weeks I liked my Designer
Whey shakes, and then they started making me nauseous. Since then, I've
given up protein shakes and bars. They all taste disgusting. I try to eat
some cottage cheese, cheese or tuna everyday, so at least I get something.
Not a lot of food tastes good to me right now. Mainly, just fresh fruit.
I had some corn on the cob the other night and it was delicious!!! I never
thought anything could taste so good. Anyway, I don't have any advice for
you, but I can definitely relate to how you're feeling. Good luck and God
bless!
