Question:
I want to maximize my window of opportunity.
I am going all protein with little in the carb department. I know that milk has a lot of sugar so I am trying to go very easy on it, but I really love dairy! I also want the calcium, I'm young and haven't given birth yet! I exercise as best as someone who just had foot surgery can but I can't seem to get enough water and protein in. My eating habits have changed drastically in the past month (8 weeks out)--I cannot eat more that 1/4 cup of food at the most and I hate Proteinex! Any tips on getting in the protein without constant snacking? Oh, and I've developed a strong dislike for most protein powders! HELP! — jenn2002 (posted on June 16, 2002)

Hopefully you are taking plenty of calcium citrate, too? The calcium in
milk requires a working stomach to be digested, then absorbed, so it's not
really available to us, and the same with the dab of protein in it. Which
protein powders have you tried & how'd you make them up? There are over
100 powders out there, so eventually you'll find one.

The best thing I've tried so far is using the Free Website .....
www.fitday.com.... it's an excellant way to keep track of your food &
activities. Try it out and see if that'll help.

I would suggest cottage cheese also, any kind of beans, Campbell's bean and
bacon soup, yogurt, refried beans, sounds wierd but low fat corned beef
hash has tons of protein. I disguise my cottage cheese with hot sauce,
french salad dressing or catalina. May sound gross but it works for me.
Even low fat ranch may not be bad, seasoned salt. A cup of cottage cheese
if almost half your protein for the day..... good luck
