Question:
Can you use homemade applesauce as a base for your protein if made with Splenda?

I'm a pretty good cook and would like to learn now how to adapt some recipes for post-op. I love homemade applesauce and wanted to try to make some with Splenda. I thought for diversity it could be a good base for a non flavored protein to get the protein in. Do you dump with Applesauce and is it an ok post-op food (minus skins and strained not chunky). That sounds like a good idea to me. I don't know of any reason you couldn't have applesauce sweetened with Splenda, homemade or not.

I've had "light" applesauce MANY times and never had a problem. The sugar content in the light was about 12 grams so I see no reason why your homemade with Splenda recipe would give you any problems. ENJOY!
