Question:
Does anyone have any problems eating Jerkeys?
I was wondering if it is a good idea to eat beef jerkey and other jerkeys, I have a food dehydatror and I thought it might be a good source of protein, But it does swell if you eat to much. — peaceangel58 (posted on September 24, 2000)

I have been able to tolerate turkey jerky without any problems. I am
extremely careful to chew it to a pulp just like any other food/meat. I
would be careful of the beef and treat it like you would steak.

I eat turkey jerky all of the time. I have not tried beef jerky because I
am not suppose to eat red meat until one year post op. I have not had one
bit of trouble with the turkey jerky, but remember, we are all different.
If you try it, be sure to try just a little at a time until you know you
tolerate it. I love it. It is so portable too.

I also eat beef jerky and chew and chew and chew. Main thing to remember
is to remove any gristle - do not swallow it!
