What over the counter Vitamins are good?
Do I have to buy all of this protien drinks/Zinic/B12/supplement stuff? Isn't there a good all purpose vitamin? — Erin M S. (posted on January 31, 2000)

There are SO many choices! AS many inches of intestine as you have are as
many different variations of surgery as there are. Your doctor or your lab
work will customize your supplements needs to your particular surgery and
your particular needs. You want to buy the most economical and best
supplements for YOU. What works over here might not work for you. The
most expensive may be way more than you need. Some prefer to chew
everything, some prefer to swallow. You can talk to me and perhaps I can
take a bit of the confusion out of the mix for you?

My physician just advised that I take 2-3 chewable childrens vitamins
daily. I take Flintstone with Iron. I had problems in the beginning with
hair loss related to my protein intake so i just made sure to try to take
in more in my diet. I am not sure about the other supplements and vitamins
needed. I was only advised of the above.
