Charles, do you mind me asking what kind of surgery you had 27 years ago?
My mother had the mason shunt in '74 performed at KUmed. I read your
profile, have you found a new surgeon that is willing to work with you?
And have you checked out side of the KC area?

It is more common than you know to revise. I'd recommend getting on the
Grad list, whose link I do not have handy. Many of us have had at least
two surgeries, some more. If you email me privately, I'll send you the
link. [email protected]

Whatever the surgery you had 27 years ago, things have changed markedly
(for the better) The outcomes are very positive if you are prepared to work
with your new tool. Because your surgery was so long ago many people on
line may not know much about your surgery, or be able to tell you what you
want to know. But there are ,many who have had revisions of WLS of the more
recent types. It still comes back to you, you need to be motivated (follow
your nutritional advice and exercize regime as set out by your treating
surgeon together with his team) I sugest that you cantact an acredited
surgeon in WLS and see what you and he can come up with as an answer to
your problems and return you to your former slimer and healthy self. I do
wish you well on this lifelong search for weight loss.

I had my stomach stapled about 23 years ago. I have gained back all my
weight and then some. I will be having bypass surgery tomorrow, Monday June
13. My doctor informed me Friday that there are greater risk with
revisions. So make sure to be honest with your surgeon about your last
surgery.
