Question:
Is there anyone out there that takes flax oil? If so, how much & how often?

Two tablespoons a day - more convenient if you mix it with salad oil or put
it in your protein shakes.

I take Omega Oil every day (1 tablespoon) in my protein drink. Great for
the bones and hair. You can put it in your oatmeal, etc.

Everything I have read says flax seed is very important for all women to
take. However, I had somebody tell me not to take flax seed in the oil
form because we do not absorb the oil like non-WLS people. She suggested
ground flax seed sprinkled on food. I thought that made a lot of
sense......just something to think about. Michelle :) -126

I take flax oil. It seems to be helping. I feel wonderful. I take 4 grams
per day. I just pour it in a cup & drink it. I think it tastes fine.
The capsules are so HUGE they really scared me when I first seen them. My
doctor recommends that I take 4 capsules per day (1000 mg each) I have even
cut wholes in the capsules & squeezed it out & drank it that way.
He wants me to do 4 capsules per day until I am 6 months post-op & then
2 capsules until I am a year post op. Hope some of my ramblings help!!

Since we malabsorb fats and oils to a degree, you might want to use flax
SEEDS (ground/milled) for the full benefit. Many put them into their
protein supplement or sprinkle on ceral.
