Question:
Need Advice For Breast Reduction Surgery This Coming Monday
I'm having Breast Reduction Surgery next Monday :o) Does anyone have any tips or advice as to what I need to get/do before my surgery so I will be ready when I get home? I won't be staying overnight...Just outpatient. I love all of your advice and posts and would appreciate any helpful tips you might have? Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! My PS just called me and had a cancellation and it looks like I will be having my breast reduction surgery next Monday. I LOVE IT! Thanks a bunch and have a great night! I don't have any advise for you, but, I am also having my breast reduction
surgery next Monday......You might want to post this question on the
Plastic Surgery message board on Obesityhelp.com. Good luck, I am also
outpatient and will not be spending the night.

Congrats on your upcoming surgery! I am sooooooo happy with my breast
reduction. The hardest part was not lifting the arms for 3 weeks I kept
forgetting and it smarted. The pain wasnt bad at all and fortunately I had
no drains. My only advise is invest in a couple of decent sports bras if
that is what he/she willhave you in for 6-8 weeks post op. I bought so many
from walmart etc and ended up with 2 from academy sport that were
wonderful. Also once I got to where I was getting out and wanted a little
shape in my clothes i got an old time cross your heart and wore it for a
while since underwires were so uncomfortable. It is awesome to put on a
nightgown or swim suit and actually look like I have boobs not flat looking
from the massive saggage. I even have been known to go braless now ! who
woulda thunk it? Aslo dont freak out over the strange shape athe breast
have after as mine looked kind of square but they rounded out and did I say
I love them ? Anyway, best wishes to you, Lesley

My advice is simply this: Can you send the leftovers my way? Ba-HAHAHAHA!
My boobs have pretty much disappeared!
Seriously, though, good luck to you!!

Hi! I second Stephanie's recommendation for BreastHealthOnline.org...It's a
great website. I had my BR alittle over 13 months ago. Wear comfortable
loose-fitting clothes to the hospital, and the top you wear should either
button or zip up so that you don't have to raise your arms to put it on.
Slip on shoes, to so you don't have to bend over and reach to tie them.
Drink lots of water...Get a couple of good sports bras, one in the size
your PS is taking you to, and then another is one size larger to
accommodate the swelling. Get lots of rest...what else? lol. GOOD LUCK to
you! You're gonna feel so much better! Denise 316/158; 36G to 36C

Be sure he gives you a low dose of Valium for muscls spasms, along with
your pain meds - I took Percocet. It helps immensely! Also, keep two
lunchpack sized icces in the freezer to wrap in a soft towel and out
wherever it hurts. AND, be sure that you DO NOT sleep with yor arms behind
your head. I did and inadvertantly opened my incisions...not cool, and
totally my fault. Good luck!
