Question:
LapBand food amounts

Ok, i would like to get some examples of "How much"; how many cc fills you have and how long you been banded. My doctor has been agressive . I got a 3 cc fill this week. Had my first meal today (after 3 days liquids) and I cant tell any restrictions!!!!!!! Am I wrong, but shouldnt the restrictions eventually be alot?    — star . (posted on November 14, 2003)

I've been banded for about 6 months, have 2 ccs, but I expect I will need to get another fill soon (probably to 2.5 ccs) because I have been able to eat more lately. I've noticed that the band seems to get looser as I've lost weight. I think that some of the restriction we feel is from the band pressing on the fat around the stomach, so when that layer of fat shrinks there is less restriction. Since I see from your profile that you have already lost a significant amount of weight, you may need to have the band tighter to feel the restriction that those of us who started out heavier would feel with less fluid. I'd say wait 2 weeks to let the fill "settle" before deciding if you need to have more fill put in...sometimes it seems like it takes a little while to feel the full effect of a fill. Good luck. I hope it works for you.

I'm 9 months post-op and have had 3 fills. I am now at 2.1cc. Are you sure you didn't get .3cc instead of 3cc? You don't mention how many adjustments you've had.

Hi Helen, I assume that its been only a few days since your fill so it may just take some time.Restriction is funny in that you may think you have none and then all of a sudden there it is.I have been banded 4 months and have had 1 fill of 1.25cc. I know I need another fill because wt loss has been slower, I am very hungry all the time and I actually GAINED 6 lbs which I have now lost through exercising more BUT with all of that there are times are certain things that I eat that send me straight to the bowl (if you know what I mean).I would give it more time before I get another fill.
