Question:
I am 7 days post op, and today I realized that I was able to drink much faster than
just the few oz. I should be able to 'fit' in my pouch... plus for the first time i feel something growly like hunger pangs (although I am not hungry)? Is it possible to stretch your pouch with just liquids if you drink too fast? — lcoleff (posted on October 21, 2003)

You are healing. If you drink too fast for your pouch to handle it, you
will throw up. The swelling is going down and you are able to handle more
volume now.

Ditto to what Patty said below. You can't really know what's 'normal' at
thispoint, since you're such a new post-op. The gurgling is probably
gasses and has nothing to do with hunger. Good luck to you in your
journey!

I could drink pretty fast right from the beginning. It hasn't been a
problem for me so far. It helps because I can get in over a gallon of
liquid a day now easily.

Just to add to what the other posters have said... fluids do NOT stretch
your pouch, so DON'T worry about that!! All of a sudden one day the fluids
just became "easy" for me, so don't worry too much!! God bless!!
