Question:
Which vitamin supplement do you take?
I'm 11 months post-op RNY and have been taking iron, calcium citrate, B12, and chewable Centrum vitamin. I'd like to change my vitamin to something I can swallow instead of chew but sometimes they are so large I'm afraid they will get stuck. My iron is a pill the size of a tylenol and I've never had a problem with it. Any over the counter suggestions? — Yolanda J. (posted on September 22, 2003)

I take Bariatric Lifestyle Complete Nutritional System. They are chewable
but they taste good, they also have everything that you need post op.
Remember just because you can swallow a pill that does not mean that you
can fully absorb it. There is a lot of contraversy around that even amoung
the doctor community. Your pouch is small and you digestive tract has been
shortened, pills don't always have enough time to break down before going
through your system. That is why chewable is usually recommended. For the
Bariatric Lifestyle go to www.protein-solution.com they are also only
about $9 a month.

Hi Yolanda, I now take the women's one a day vitamin's, I really like them
and they have extra calcium in it too! as for the centrum chewable
vitamin's, I don't blame ya if you want to switch to something else they
make me gag they are so gross to me.!

After my first bottle of Centrums chewables I switched to a multi-vitamin I
got from www.vitalady.com - mainly because it was cheaper than out of any
dislike of the Centrums chewables, which I didn't mind. I would cut the
vitamins in half and take them that way though eventually I tried taking
them whole and discovered I had no problem doing that.
