Question:
How many grams of Carbs should we have a day
I am 7 weeks post opp and have lost 34 lbs. I know how many grams of protein I should have a day but what about carbs and how many calories should I be having day. I am Happy with my weight loss but for the past 2 weeks I seem to be stuck and I am trying to figure out what my daily requirements should be at this point. — RoseAnne (posted on September 10, 2003)

The same and a similar question were asked yesterday. You might want to
check those responses out. (They were both asked on 9/9: the first one is
the second question listed under that date, and the second one is about 15
or 16 from the bottom of that date ("Does your surgeon count veggies
and fruits as carbs?").

You need to be referring to YOUR surgeon's plan. All of the plans vary so
drastically. Some plans use 100 grams of carbs, which I would not be
caught dead eating and some use zero, which I have done, but now do about
20-40 in a day. I'm 7 mo PO. At your stage it's critical to follow your
plan. Once you are further out you can play around some more and see what
works for your body.
