Question:
Tummy Tuck,Liposuction,Panni etc....What are the differences?
Can u please tell me the difference between all of the surgeries. Don't they all require tucking the stomach? I hear people talk about all of them, but i dont know the difference — sexysag37 (posted on August 27, 2003)

Here is what I've learned from my reseach. I have a PS consult next
Tuesday, so I may learn that I'm completely wrong!!

Liposuction is used to remove pockets of "stubborn" fat. Meaning
it won't go away with diet and exercise. It is mainly used for sculpting
purposes.

A Panniculectomy is generally just the removal of the apron - fat and
excess skin that hangs off the abdomen, generally after weight loss. Some
say that a panni only addresses the region below the belly button, some say
that it is the same as a tummy tuck, just without the muscle tightening.

A full tummy tuck will tighten up the loose abdominal muscles and remove
any excess skin. This one generally takes care of skin above and below the
naval.
