Question:
I need a TT and BR desperately because of back pain. However, I want a baby.

Has anyone had the TT and BR, and then had a baby, and then go back for touch-up work? I think that my best chance for insurance approval is right now, because of my recent history with the chiropractor for back pain. I realize that it is not recommended to have the TT and then a baby, because the pregnancy "undoes" a lot of what the surgery did in the first place. But I have this horrible panni that I absolutely hate. I was thinking about getting the TT before the baby, and a lower body lift after the baby. Any suggestions or anyone with experience?    — raye (posted on August 25, 2003)

Raye, i had a tt a few months ago and the surgeon didnt take off enough skin so i have to have a revision...I am debating on weather i should have a baby first or do the revision and then a baby my gyn made a good suggestion and said to have a baby first and i am seriously thinking of taking her advice...In my opinion though i would do what you want to do most first..because i beleive you need to be happy and what ever choice you make will be the right one for you... good luck to you

I am going thru the same situation right now. I actually have approval from my insurance for a panniclectomy, but I have been gong back and forth about whether to wait or not. I have pretty much decided to go ahead and have the panni removed and then, later, try for a baby. I know I will not get the results I want from just a panniculectomy, so that is why I am not worried about "ruining" it. I will save my money and maybe in a few years, I can go get a lower body lift and the rest (breasts and arms) done. Good Luck with your decision.
