We don't have one of those here but check and see if they have a website so
you can look up the nutritional values and stats on their smoothies. Also,
every restaurant is required to have the nutritional docs on hand if anyone
should ask for them so you can see for yourself. If I had to guess, I'd
say most of the smoothies are probably pretty high in sugar and carbs --
which would render the protein kind of useless (if you're using it to curb
your appetite).
Good luck!

I get a small smoothie, with nothing but bananas and Isopure Vanilla.
They'll add a little water and ice, and blend it up. It usually takes me
about 1 hour to finish it.

I would avoid it at all costs. Even if it didn't have extra added sugar,
it has all that fruit and that is sugar just the same and tons and tons of
calories. The only thing I have bought at Smoothie King is a protein bar.

I don't live near any Smoothie Kings, but what the others say makes sense.
If you look at most low fat items or high protein items, they are loaded
with sugar and carbs for that matter, UNLESS they are specifically labelled
as low sugar or low carb. I have been able to make good choices at fast
food restaurants if really necessary. The McDonald's chicken salad was
fine for me as were the ones at Wendy's and Burger King. Just be very
careful with the dressings. The low fat dressings are high in sugar. Use
the regular ones, just a spoonful and toss it. Oh, and Wendy's chili is
good, too.

I go to Smoothie King regularly and LOVE IT. I would caution against them
unless you work out regularly. They can add whey protein up to 20 grams if
you want it to any drink. Many are high in sugars, but those are from
natural sugars, so if you don't dump from fruit, then it is ok. If I order
a drink that has turbinado or honey, I have them remove it and add Splenda
instead. My favorites are Mango Fest (which my rep. refers to her diabetic
customers) with added protein, Orange KaBam, Light and Fluffy, and Irish
Cream Coffee. I get protein added to all of these. One day I didn't and
got a bit too full from the carbs and felt funny. Some of these have what
I consider very high carbs, but after a workout, carbs and protein are a
good thing for me. The coffee ones have less calories and carbs. I had
about 6 32 oz Smoothies in a two week period and lost 9 pounds. If you
work out a lot, they can be a good thing for you as a meal replacement.
Just my experience....
