Question:
Has anyone been successful in appealing a denied Abdominoplasty?

I am 1.5 years post op of a distal gastric bypass with duodenal switch. Down 110 lbs at 5'3, I have a lot of extra skin on my stomach. Aetna will repair my hernia, but has denied the abdominoplasty. Does anyone have a great appeal letter for plastic surgery or pointers so I can try to get this paid for? I am having to pay out of pocket for a thigh lift, breast lift and arm tuck...I'm BROKE! :) Thanks!    — Tracy W. (posted on April 22, 2003)
