Hi Josii.. my surgeon recommends Citrical Calcium Plus D.. but I found the
exact same thing in a non major name brand at KMart for a cheaper price.. I
am using Vitasmart.. Calcium Citrate Caplets +D.. the label is exact to
Citrical and I only paid $12.99 for TWO HUNDRED and TWENTY capsules. Since
I take four a day, the better price I can get the happier I am. I had a
BPD though and my ability to take lots of pills is hunky dory.. if you had
an RNY you may have a harder time with so many big pills. You should ask
your surgeon also what brand her or she recommends. Good luck! ~Peace

I have 2 types of calcium citrate. I prefer the liquid, 1 tbsp, 2x a day,
and I also have the pills. The pills are 2, 2x a day, by Solgar. Many
manufacturers produce them but I had a credit I had to use so I bought what
was there. I take the pills to work and use the liquid at home. Check out
Vitaminworld.com. The liquid comes in several flavors. I tried the orange
one and it wasn't too bad. there is almost always some type of generic or
discount version of the pricey brand name stuff. Good luck

I have done alot of research on best prices vs. quality of calcium citrate.
I've found that the best calcium citrate at the best price is at
www.vitalady.com No, I gain nothing from this plug, I just found it to be
the best quality and best deal. 240 capsules for $14.99

I buy liquid calcium citrate (lots of different flavors available) from
wlssuccess.com. A 16 oz bottle is $8. 16 oz will give you 32 servings (I
take 2 servings=1200mg of calcium) a day) so 1 bottle will last me 16 days.
FYI: I put my first tablespoon in with my protein drink and mix my other
tablespoon with yogurt.

I use several, actually. My Super Cal, Bone Density Factors, Tri-boron, and
UpCal D (not the plus, which contains protein) powder. I can drop 500mg in
my protein no big deal. BUT my bones are already shot, so I can't exactly
OD on it.

I use Twinlab's Calcium Citrate Chewable Wafers. I had OPEN RNY and any
pill that looks to large (compared to what I believe is the size of my
stoma), I avoid. The value is not to great since the bottle is only 60
wafers at $12 and change and you have to chew 4 for RDA. What I like about
the Twinlab version is that it comes with Magnesium and Vitamin D and
tastes pretty good. If you purchase it through www.vitaminshoppe.com (they
have store outlets as well) you can sign up for a frequent buyer card where
you can earn discounts on future purchases.

Calcium gluconate is the most absorbable form of calcium. It is the same
type of calcium used in IVs in the hospital. I searched high & low for
a good calcium suplement and have found the best. If you would like info on
the product I use and how to get it, I will be happy to email it to you. I
am not posting it here because I happen to work for the company responsible
for marketing the product as well and do not want anyone to misconstrue
this as an ad.

I have Citracal Calcium Citrate. They are 500 mg (2 tablets) and have 125
mg of vitamin D in it. They have a high absorption rate and are easy to
swallow.
