Question:
What kind of terms will make the Ins Co pay?

I appealed my TT and they denied it. I have lost 110 lbs and I am a diabetic. I also have a hernia which is covered but they will not cover my TT. I am so upset. I have Horizon BC/BS. I just don't understand. Can anyone suggest something?    — Theresa B. (posted on January 31, 2003)

You might have your excess skin removed at the same time as the hernia repair. That way your insurance will pay for the hospital stay and the anasthesia, etc. and you would just have to pay the difference. Also, make sure that your plastic surgeon's office is submitting this as a panniculectomy, not as a tummy tuck. Tummy tucks are considered cosmetic, while panniculectomy is usually not.
