My nutritionist allowed us to have it starting with the soft food phase of
our post-op diet - one month out...JR

I was allowed regular (not lowfat) peanut butter at two weeks. LF PB (as
well as other LF products)uses sugars and carbs to replace the fats, so my
doc has us use regular.

Remember RNY'ers don't absorb all the fat we take in, so go for the full
fat version. And you should be able to start now. P.B. on crackers, good
start at 3 weeks. Has your doc put you on soft foods yet? P.B. on
crackers is a soft food stage...

Cindy...I know that I dump on high-fat stuff (like regular mayo), so I
would go for the low-fat PB over the regular...JR

Hi, my nutritionist gave me the okay for PB after my 2 week visit. One TBSP
and he recommended Natural PeanutButter made by Smuckers. The only
ingredients are peanuts and salt. Its really good. I enjoy it for breakfast
on reduced fat ritz crackers.
