Question:
I need to ask a question about dumping. I had a proximal 9 weeks ago and

I have done great on only eating what I am supposed to but tonight we had a party and I ate a small piece of cake and pie and 1 cookie and I didn't get sick or sweaty palms but I have had diarrhea all night long. Is that a sign of dumping? I hope this one night doesn't cause me to gain. Please advise me about this dumping . Thanks, Judy    — Judy W. (posted on September 22, 2002)

For me, that's the first sign of dumping. I get dizzy and sit on the toilet for usually an hour or two when I have too much sugar. Why did you eat all three things? That's a major concentration of sugar to throw into your system. I can usually have 1/4 of a cookie and no cakes or pies. Open RNY 4/29/02 -90 lbs.

This is definitly a sign of dumping, it the same way I do whenever I eat too much fat,I never eat anything with over 4 to 6 grams of sugar in it, that's another reason I very seldom eat out, because whenever I do I get the dumps, guess it's the way the restaurants ccok their food, What are you doing eating cakes, pie and cookies at 9 weeks post-op? I haven't had anything at all like that and I am almost 7 months post-op..
