Question:
Need panniculectomy info
I was sure I had seen several people post that they had had a panniculectomy (not an abdominoplasty) with an anchor or inverted T incision. I looked thru the library to try to find them, but it's not working well & I couldn't find what I was looking for. Does anyone know about a panniculectomy with that kind of incision? My PS appointment is tomorrow afternoon & I am trying to put some info together to take along. If insurance approves a panni, is it up to the PS how long or extensive the incision & repaired area is? I sure do need tightening up above my waist as well as below; it sounds like this inverted T would be just right for me. I appreciate any help. thanks! — Kathy W. (posted on February 7, 2002)

I had a panniculectomy and brachioplasty (armlift) in November. Because I
had so much excess tissue above the bellybutton, my plastic surgeon opted
to do the anchor incision, and I couldn't be more happy with my results. I
would be glad to talk with you about it if you would like to email me
[email protected] Good luck!
