I asked my surgeon (Dr. Wittgrove) if he recommended it. He said that they
do not prescribe it or recommend it. He also said that it has never been
proven to prevent gallstones. I don't know, because I did hear that it
reduced the incidence of gallstones. But I would think that my surgeon
knew more than I. Ask your surgeon what they think about it.

I am 3 1/2 months out from surgery and have lost 100 pounds, and I take
actigall every day. My surgeon requires us to take it. He said it will not
stop gall stones 100%, but it will help. Just ask your doctor. -Phil SA,TX.
