HI, I HAD OPEN RNY IN SEPT. OF THIS YEAR. MY BOWELS HAVE BEEN VERY LOSS
SINCE SURGERY, ALOT OF DIARHEA. THE GAS IS TOXIC, MY HUSBAND AND CHILDREN
KEEP AIR FRESHNER IN EVERY ROOM OF THE HOUSE. AND I CAN'T SEEM TO CONTROL
IT, BUT IT REALLY SMELLS BAD. I HAD LOST 80 POUNDS SINCE SURGERY THOUGH AND
FEEL SO MUCH BETTER. I WOULD DO IT AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT.

Ok, I must be a lucky one. I have not had problems with gas or
diarrhea(sp) since surgery in August of 2002. Everyone is different
though. There are some certain foods that will give it to me though, milk.
I also noticed an increase in gas close to my monthly cyle. Best
Wishes!!!

I don't have any problems with gas if I eat well. Too much sugar/simple
carbs or sugar alcohols (found in lots of sugar-free stuff) and I am off to
the races, though. If I stick to high protein/low carb/moderate sugar I
actually have less gas than before surgery. I NEVER have diarrhea--actually
usually the opposite as high-protein tends to stop me up.

This is a VERY common problem to many of the people in my 90-person support
group. Most people find it is associated with a specific type of
food....with me, I KNOW beyond the shadow of a doubt that it's fatty foods.
Limit fatty foods = no gas. Too much fat = clear the room!

deadly gas here, if they could bottle it we could wipe out saddam in a
single fart. I have to be careful on what I eat, My prein shakes are big
contributors so I have resolved not to have them before work ever again
after one of life's most embarrassing moments.
