I also never really knew when I was full so I premeasured out all my food.
1/4c tuna, chicken or egg salad, and 1/2c soup. I'd spend about 30 minutes
eating it. Sometimes I'd get a tightness in my esophagus and stopped. If
I didnt stop, Im sure I wouldve vomited. Sometimes I ate it all. I did
vomit 3 times but not from overeating, but from food that disagreed with
me. You WILL get used to your new tummy. It takes a bit of time.

Concentrate on feeling satisfied rather than full. If you eat until full,
you may feel pretty lousy 10 minutes later when your brain catches up to
tummy. Also, if you are still on liquids, since they pass rather quickly,
you may not feel full at this stage. Purees and soft foods will fill you
up more. My experience is that feeling full post-op is just like feeling
full pre-op...just as miserable and just as heavy.

I try to eat until that first "twinge" of fullness, and then stop
completely. I have found that eating beyond this point will lead to stomach
pain. If I stop with the very first signal, I can properly digest my food.
If I push it, then I have pain. I always think that pain is a warning that
something is WRONG, so it's best for me to avoid the pain and concentrate
on enjoying the few bites of food.
