Ive never tried it; but alot of those 'ensure' products have sugar in them
- or high calorie. If you cant stand the protein drinks (Im one of them)
go to walmart to the milk section and buy a carton of "carbcountdown'
its a great milk sub and the whole family can use it and it has 12 grams of
protein for 1 cup.

Personally I think this is a really bad source of protein. For 8 oz. you
get 232 calories, 8 grams protein, 24 grams of carbs and 24 grams of sugar.
There far better sources of protein. These products are designed to help
picky eaters (of the child variety) get a decent amount of calories in. You
would do better to find a decent whey protein powder. The one I use gives
me 32 g protein, 3 g fat, 1 g sugar/carbs - a much better ratio.

My thoughts are that products like Pediasure are one of the biggest
contributing factors of childhood obesity in the U.S. Mommies and Daddies
who think their kids aren't getting proper nutrition might supplement one
or two or even more of these sugar, carb laden beverages each day. The
result can be overweight kids. So, I guess the answer to your question
would be "no, Pediasure is not an appropriate protein
supplement". There are lots of pleasant tasting, high quality,
nutritionally sound drinks out there. No need to try something like
Pediasure. Hope you find exactly what works for you! Best wishes.

Pediasure is not a good source of protien , it is an excellent source of
excess carbs and sugar however
protien drinks i sort of like, ... personally i have decided that all
protein drinks are just different versions of yechy
i have yet to find one that actually tastes "good"
that said , Myoplex lite, the fruit flavors are good, make sure to mix
iwht at LEAST 16 oz of water, otherwise they are really thick , and kind of
nasty ( sipping o n banana cr5eam pie right now )
and On nutritions 100% Whey , in the vanilla ice cream or , chocolate are
good too , 110 calories, 23 grams protien , 3 grams carb , 1 of sugar
31 servings in a jug , for locally $20.00 its pretty good in a blender
with my cooled decaf and a couple of ice cubes, like a frozen cappuchino...
still not the real thing, but its ok .
look for good sources!!!
theres lots of them out there , you just have to be diligent

I have found the Advantage shake by Atkins is wonderful. I found it in the
pharmacy section of Walmart. They have creamy vanilla, chocolate,
strawberry, and cafe au lait. I have tried vanilla, chocolate and
strawberry but not the last one because I don't like coffee and wouldn't
like a coffee flavored shake. These shakes are delicious and come in 11 oz
cans. They have 170 calories, 4 carbs (3 fiber and one sugar), 8 fats, and
20 g protein. There are 4 cans in a case and the cases are usually $7.86
but I found them on sale this week for $5.70. I bought 8 cases...4 of
chocolate and 4 of vanilla as I didn't care for the strawberry. I also eat
protein bars that are called AdvantEDGE by EAS. They have 230 calories, 8
fats, and 25 g protein. They also are in the pharmacy section at walmart
and are $1.67 each. Hope this helps. It definitely helped me and they
don't have too much sugar and I don't dump with them.
