Chicken was a staple for me. So were chunky soups. Vegetables were cooked
well, and pureed too.

Small nancy quiches, the inside of a deviled crab with a little coctail
sauce, pureed yams, ricotta cheese with marinara sauce, egg salad, deviled
eggs, creamed spinach. Just remember, chew chew chew and NO CHUNKS!

I am 6 weeks post-op, so I am out of the pureed foods, but soft foods can
probley be worked into your intake. I ate alot of tuna fish and maynasise,
potted meat, vinnia sausage, peanut butter and crackers.

I needed to get as much protein from my foods as I could because I could
not tolerate the protein shakes....they would sometimes make me dump. I
pureed meats...but couldn't stand the texture so I added my pureed meat
with mashed potatoes and added cheese and powdered milk for extra protein
and it worked well. It tasted like sheppards pie. I also found my
favorite soup to be egg drop. If you want to control the nutrition, you
can make it at home by using either chicken broth or chicken boullion and
adding an egg. To increase the "healthiness" just use egg whites
due to the fact that the fat and cholesterol comes from the yolk. I hope
this helps. Good luck on your journey....Rose lap rny 12-27-03 down 105

You can puree almost anything your family is eating by just adding some
liquid and putting it in the blender. Today I pureed a 1/4 of a hamburger
with tomato sauce, I've done turkey burger with V8, Stofers spinach soufle,
and chicken with canned gravy. Split pea soup and bean soups are good
because they are high in protien. Sweet potatoes are good too. Hope this
helps. I still have two more weeks of pureed food and it does get to be a
drag. The more variety the better.

Please please ditch the potatoes!!! Empty white carb starch junk. Lots of
other good foods out there. Good luck!
