I don't recommend slimfast at all. It is loaded with carbs. You need to
concentrate on protein intake.

According to a USA Today article several months ago, slim fast has as much
sugra as a package of M&M's. Slim Fast, Boost and Ensure are big
no-no's due to sugar and carb content according to my doctor.

My surgeon recommended the Lactose Free Slim Fast - it is Soy Protein and I
have no problems with it. I dump very easily and it doesn't bother me at
all. It comes in Chocolate and Cafe Mocha. I prefer the Cafe Mocha and I
don't like coffee. I am 20 months post-op, at goal and maintaining nicely.
All my labs have been perfect, so it must be working.

Slimfast is not good nutrition for a WLS postie! A couple of good ones I
use are AdvantEdge and CarbSolutions. The ready-to-drink versions are a
little over $1 a shake at WalMart. They are both very good and don't have a
nasty artifical sweetner aftertaste (sweetened with Splenda).

I wouldn't touch the stuff with a ten-foot pole! I'd rather eat the
M&M's-LOL

FYI. Slim Fast has the same grams of sugar as a bag of m n m's. It also has
little or no protien in it. I would suggest going to vitalady.com and
trying some of the protein samples to find a few you like. It is a lot
healthier.
