Question:
Does anyone know of a WHEY protein that has no aspertame?

I need to find a whey protein that does not contain aspertame. It can't have soy protein in it, either. It can be either shake, powder, bar, whatever, as long as it has no aspertame or soy in it. I'm pregnant and can't have either soy or aspertame right now...! Thanks in advance!!    — Sharon m. B. (posted on August 27, 2003)

Ultra Whey 24 is a great tasting protein drink mix that is sweetened wtih Stevia. It has 24 g of protein with 114 calories, 0.5 g fat, and 4 g of carbs. Here are the ingredients as listed on the Chocolage Fudge flavor: C.F.M. Cross-Flow Microfiltered Whey Protein Concentrate, Hydrolized Whey Protein, Ion Exchange Whey Protein, Natural Flavor including Stevia. It comes in the chocolate, vanilla, mixed berry, and pineapple orange which is new and which I haven't tried yet. The chocolate and vanilla are very good; however, the mixed berry has a very artifical/chemical taste. I mix the chocolage with 4 oz or so of water. Sometimes I will add about a teaspoon of natural peanut butter and a drop of honey. My family prefers it mixed with milk (soy or skim). The vanilla is great in a blender with orange juice, half a banana, and ice. Oh, it's distributed by Vitalabs, Inc., and they have a website - vitalabs.com. Hope this helps.

Sharon - go to http://www.gourmetprotein.com and order their 7-flavor sample pack. It's free with only $4.95 for shipping. I just tried the Orange Dreamsicle this morning. It does have 4.8g of sugar, but is flavored with sucralose (Splenda)...JR

My favorite is Trader Joe's Chocolate Whey Protein (not the Designer Whey). It is YUMMY! It has sugar instead of aspertame, so be careful if you dump.

The new flavors from Champion Whey Stack don't use aspartame, they use splenda. Check out netrition.com, search for champion whey stack, and check out the banana scream and moccachino flavors. I've heard they're great. You can order samples from vitalady.com, but netrition has the ingredients listed.

SciFit Whey Protein powder is sweetened with stevia. It mixes easily with water, isn't too sweet and comes in a variety of flavors. I buy it locally, butI believe www.vitalady.com also has it.

I use EAS Advant Edge high performance WHEY Protein powder. It mixes up in a glass of 4-6 ozs water really smooth. Not gritty and can be mixed with a spoon. It has 20g Protein and 4 carbs per serving. At Walmart the cost is 8.46 for a can with 16 servings. I was having trouble affording all the protein I needed to take and learned about this one here on the site. I really do like it. No way could I afford the Real Meals and some of that other stuff so many talk about.
