Question:
I cannot tolerate protein drinks.

Every time someone posts that they cannot tolerate protein drinks, people respond with more proteins drinks to try. FORGET the protein drinks!! I've gagged and vomited my last one!! I need the name of a TASTELESS protein powder that mixes well with food and is easy to find. Please help!! Thank you.    — carmen S. (posted on August 14, 2003)

Never had one...never will. I'm 10 months postop and the thought of those protein drinks makes me gag. Your profile doesn't have any info in it so I don't know how far along you are but how about getting protein from food or protein bars?

Carmen, I ordered an unflavored 100% whey protein powder from www.beyondmuscle.com called BioPlex 100% whey protein isolate. It comes in 4 flavors so if you want the unflavored make sure you order the 'natural'. I add it to my yogurt everymorning. Now I'm not saying that it is undetectable in my yogurt because it does change the texture, but personally I can't dectect a taste difference. I also use this protein powder to make my protein shakes at night. In the blender with some sugar free Tang, frozen strawberries and ice is my favorite. Blended in this way I can't even smell the usually distinct scent of whey protein. I'm sorry that you are having problems with finding a tolerable protein. It has taken me 3 months to finally find ways of getting in my protein without gagging. There are other unflavored or 'natural' protein powders out there... this is just the one that I happended to find and like. I hope that you get some information that is helpful to you. Good Luck!

I have a very simple answer for you...forget about protein powders. If you can't stand them, don't drink them. You don't need them. Try just using real food. Or, try a bar. There is no such thing (that I have ever found) as a protein tht has no taste at all. Good luck.

I sell an oderless, tasteless, sugarless, colorless protein mix, if you are interested. You may be able to get away without any protein mixes, though... Just measure out your actual meat/dairy protien every day and make sure you get in your minimum required by your nutritionist. If you just can't get it all in, then turn to protein bars and as a last resort, protein shakes. Email me for help, if you like! :~)

I found a way to overcome this. I mix the protein power with 4-6 ounces of skim milk and a 4 oz sugar free pudding. I mix them in the Magic Bullet for 20 seconds and it tastes much better. Especially, if you stick to all chocolate (pudding and protein powder), it is much tastier.
