Question:
Any ideas on a protein supplement?

I'm 5 mos. out, have lost a substantial amount of weight, but it seems like it has stopped. Throughout this time, I have not drank protein drinks (I can't tolerate the taste) but have been eating alot of protein. I need something to jump start my weight loss. Any ideas on protein supplements (preferrably not drinks - or at least decent tasting drinks!) Thanks alot!    — jengrz (posted on April 27, 2003)

wlssuccess.com has a really good carribean cooler nectar protein drink, no sugar, no carbs. I couldn't take the other chocolate drinks either, they would make me shiver. But this is good and they have samples that you could buy so you don't have to buy the whole can. Hope this helps

I personally love the Sci-Fit Amino Fusion 5000 Liquid. There are three flavors, Grape, Fruit Punch and Raspberry. I buy it from vitalady.com for 19.99 a 32 oz. bottle. I use the grape (I've never liked Fruit Punch anything) and it taste just like grape Kool-Aid to me. I use 6 TBS to a 24 oz. bottle of water and have one daily. A bottle of the protein usually lasts me about 2 weeks and it's so worth it to me since I simply can't stand the smell or the taste of the powders. Hope this helps!

I hate protein drinks; never used them. Tried a protein bar once... HORRIABLE. Today, tho I saw a 'bag' of Nacho chips... was hesitant to buy them but did, since I thought they might be a 'good' protein source to take to work. They were NOT BAD! They came from Walmart. Carb Solutions High Protein CHips. One serving (2 in a bag) = 130 cal and 19 grams of protein. Its a change from string cheese and easy portable.

I highly recommend trying some samples. They are offered at www.wlssuccess.com and at www.vitalady.com. After trying numerous samples myself, I have selected Champion Nutrition Pure Whey Stack as my favorite. I also liked the Proscore 100 but not quite as much as the Stack. I just ordered some of it from www.vitaplus.net. I would normally order from vitalady, since I got vitamins from her, and because she is an ANGEL to us all with her wit and wisdom. But vitaplus has a great sale on right now and I couldn't pass up a bargain, you know. Living on a tight budget really bites! LOL You may also want to visit the Protein Shakes/Pervs group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OSSG-Protein/ Another option for supplementing protein is Protocookie or Sport Cookie available at www.protocookie.com. I ordered their sample pack and some of them were quite tasty! But they are rather pricey. Good Luck on your continued journey and Congrats on your success so far. - Anna LAP RNY 7/3/02 -123lbs.

EAS makes a drink that is pretty decent. It is called Precision Protein it is a 20 ounce drink and it has whey protein with 42 grams of protein. It comes in grape and fruit punch. I know some people dilute it in half with water. That way they know they get at least 40 ounces of fluid per day. I personally prefer the grape.

GNC carries a 50gr 20oz bottled drink for $3.50 that comes in orange, fruit punch and blue raspberry flavors. The brand is called Nature's Best Isopure. Pretty tasty and great for making your own high protein popsicles!!

You could also try a taste-less protein powder like ProCel (vitalady). It can be mixed in warm or cold beverages & food and really doesn't change the taste.

I have found some really good ones from Herbalife, they have a bunch of different kinds and a variety of flavors, if you would like more information, go to this website www.anewcreation-nh.com and it will give you more information (it is my website). God Bless -leslie
