Question:
Has anyone put money in their cafeteria plan for plastic surgery?
I am wanting to have what I consider reconstructive breast surgery. I am having a lift and implants. I am wondering if anyone has put money in their cafeteria plans for this type of surgery. The benefit to puting it in the cafeteria plan is that it would be taken out pre-tax and I would have it removed from my check over the course of the year, but I would have access to the whole amount as soon as the first deduction was made. I am just trying to find out if anyone else has been able to do it. — cindy Q. (posted on October 5, 2002)

Make sure you check with your insurance company as to what kind of
restrictions they have. My insurance plan as the same kind of
"savings" plan but it cannot be used for plastic surgery.

I am trying to make them agree that it is reconstructive not cosmetic.
