Question:
Calcium Citrate TABLETS?

Today I bought Calcium Citrate with Vit D TABLETS, not capsules. Am I going to be able to get these down or can I crush them. The thought of dissolving them in water and swallowing that is disgusting. Anyone else tried the TABLETS?    — Jeannie4 (posted on June 18, 2003)

I take Citracal Ultradense 500 mg. They are oblong and rather large, but I use a pill spitter to cut them in half and they go down fine. You can find a pill splitter at any pharmacy and they aren't very expensive at all.

I find they stick in my throat even when split multiple times and that's the ONLY pill I've had trouble with. I've been crushing them into a bit of yogurt, applesauce or sugar-free pudding...but that's getting old.

Early on, I couldn't get any pills down with just water. I used yogurt to help, although applesauce and SF Jello also worked. I would take a spoonful of the yogurt, then hold it in my mouth, pop the pill in and then swallow them together.
