Question:
Those of you that use vitalady, what pills do you buy from there
I am 4 weeks post-op and have been using liquid vitamins....they are sooo gross!! I wnt to start using capsules. Would I buy the multivitamins and the calcium citrate? How much would I take? Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks. — Lezli M. (posted on August 6, 2002)

I buy the Calcium Citrate plus magnesium and Vitamin D from her. Actually
I just got 2 big bottles of them delivered today. The capsuls are big but I
have never had a problem with them. They dissolve as soon as they go down
so there's no threat of them getting stuck. They are 500mg of calcium each.
I take 3 a day. ( morning, noon, and night) I have also bought the Carbonyl
Iron which is also called "perfect Iron". I just saw the same
iron , same brand( Sundown) at Wal Mart, so I will be buying it there from
now on. They are very small tablets, highly absorbable, and very easy on
our new tummies. I take them after a meal with a drink of orange juice. As
far as a multi vitamin goes, I just buy childrens chewables and chew 2/day.
I am 8 months post op and my labs have been great so far.

I buy her Calcium Citrate pills because they're the only ones I've found
that come in 500 mg per pill. I open the capsules and put them in my
protein shakes. They hurt my stomach otherwise. You need to check w/your
doc to see the types and amounts of vitamins you need. Get a copy of your
bloodwork and keep track of the numbers yourself so you'll be educated on
your own health! Good luck and God Bless!

Just another possibility to try. I am also 4 weeks post-op today. I started
taking Bariatric Supply Supplement 1 week post-op. You take 2 multis, 1
b-12, and 6 calcium capsules a day. They are quick, go down easy being
vegetable capsules, and have all the necessary nutrients for post-ops. You
may want to check them out.

Vitalady/Michelle (and Vitaguy) are SO HELPFUL! I have asked them many
questions and have received very thorough answers. I have also bought
protein samples (a great way to test some products) and calcium and iron
from them. I'm sure that they will be glad to help you determine your
needs. I'm pushing Michelle to write a book on post-op nutrition and
supplements! Good luck!

I just went for my 6-week check up today. I had open-rny 6/20. My surgeon
told me to continue taking my 2 Bugs Bunny chewables (1 with breakfast, 1
with dinner). I was also told to take Tums Ultra (1 in morning, 1 at
night), to get my calcium.
Up until today the only thing I was told to take was the Bugs Bunny's. I
would let your surgeon know your plan before you start taking anything just
to be safe.
For vitalady, the only thing that I've purchased from their are the protein
samples. I was so happy I did too.....saved me lots of money, I hated the
protein drink mixes I purchased :0)
GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS!

I am lucky in that I live 10 minutes from VitaLady's house, and I popped
over yesterday to buy my vitamins. I am having siugery on Monday, 8-12, and
wanted to get everything ready. Michelle and I reviewed what vitamins I
would need as a proximal. She has a list she can e-mail you. I got Vit
E(dry), Zinc, Vit A&D(dry), iron, calcium, hair-skin-nails, and I will
buy my chewable Vit C, and chewable multivits at Costco(Kirkland brand. I
hope that helps. Good luck!
