Question:
I have a couple of questions about vitamins.
For the last few weeks I have noticed a strange metallic taste in my mouth and also haven't been very regular for several weeks. I "go" maybe twice a week. I eat a enough that I should be regular. I take 2 perfect iron in the morning and after lunch I have a calcium and a multi-vit w/o iron. Could I be getting too much iron? Also, over the last few weeks I've been seeing a floating dark spot in my vision. I used to get that every once in awhile when I was a kid and maybe 2-3 times as an adult, however lately it happens several times a week....could this be caused by a vitamin deficiancy? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. -Kim open RNY proximal 7/17 -85ish — KimBo36 (posted on March 1, 2002)

I'm scheduled for lab work tomorrow :) Just curious if anyone else had
these specific problems.

When I experienced a metallic taste to everything, I was told everything
from a-z as to why... Later, I found out that the metallic taste was caused
by a marginal ulcer on my stoma.. you might ask the doc to check you for
marginal ulcers or send you to a qualified GI doc and get a scope as well
as the lab tests.
Best of luck to you
