Question:
Anyone have Blue Shield of California?
I would just like to hear from anyone that has this insurance and about their experiences with it. I am out of state (Oklahoma) and have PPO. I am looking at a revision so if anyone has actually had a revision with this insurance please please respond! :) But I would like to hear from anyone. Thank you guys! — LaKeAffy (posted on March 5, 2005)

Yes and No. I have Blue Cross of California HMO. I work for a Tenet
Hospital. Fortunately, because I chose to have the surgery at a Tenet
Hospital (admitted as an in-patient) I was not charged anything except my
$15 co-pay for visits to my surgeon and PCP. My surgery was 100% covered.
It depends on what benefits your company allows for under their agreement
with Blue Cross. Because you have a PPO, you may be responsible for your
20%. I know of people who have had BC California PPO cover their surgery.

Hi LaKeitha,
I have BCBS California and I had the RNY surgery on 17 Jan 2005. Surgery
was covered 100% - no co pay. Approval was done in less than a week. Best
wishes.... Erica
