Question:
My bmi is 30.6 now, will insurance company o.k. the revision ?

Has any experienced needing a revision at 9 months po-op with a bmi of 30.6 and insurance co. had no problem covering the procedure?    — Gloria D. (posted on May 23, 2003)

You don't say why you need a revision, but my guess is that most insurance wouldn't cover one at so early a post-op stage unless you have proof that there was something wrong, like a staple line disruption or something like that.

My ins paid for my revision. I weighed 124 the day of my revision. My doc wrote a great letter saying, she has reflux (I had SLD), has gained some wt, and BOY, wait'll you see the list of her comorbs if she gains more, plus she's old now. LOL! Or words to that effect. I was approved in 3 hrs.

With a SLD, the surgery was listed as "corrective" surgery. And the insurance (Aetna) paid for it!
