Question:
Can you dehydrate strawberries safely without preservatives?
I don't like sulfates and wonder if you can dehydrate strawberries without preservatives, even if you also need to freeze them it's ok? I have a big freezer so I always have frozen berries but thought that it would also be great to have some dehydrated. (I'm afraid Special K with strawberries has got me going on this). lol Any ideas on the best way to dehydrate? Whole berries, or sliced? Thanks much. — Danmark (posted on May 14, 2002)

Hi Daniel,
I do strawberries,banana's, apple chips etc... I also slice them(I use a
Pampered Chef egg slicer as it's guaranteed for this-others aren't).
Remember to place on cookie sheet after dehydrating and freeze them. THis
way, when you put them in the baggies they won't stick to one another. When
you put some in the pantry remember to keep in a cool, dry place and they'll
last(unless you eat'em all first!!!)Enjoy
