Question:
Here is a wonderful comprehensive resource of information...
My nutritionist gave me an invaluable resource (and I bought an extra for family members) to use. It is called, "Living a Lighter Lifestyle - A guide to successful weight loss and maintenance following gastroplasty or gastric bypass" - by Gaye Andrews, Ph.D., M.F.C.C. The year 2000 edition just came out, so it is up to date. It addresses causes of obesity, Q&A on surgery, protecting the pouch, eating, exercising, psychological changes, relationships and lifestyle changes and tips. It is 85 pages long, but only on one side, so it's easy to read and allows for note taking along the way. Ask your nutritionist if he/she has it to sell or write to Wheat Field Publications, 490 Sierra Keys Dr., Sierra Madre, CA 91024. I found it to be a very valuable and COMPREHENSIVE guide to what I am about to go through. Hope this helps:) — Paula G. (posted on March 31, 2000)

Paula - what is the cost of this booklet? Do they have an e-mail address
or a website? This would be helpful information. Karol - great resource
for pre-ops! Thanks.

Dr. Gaye Andrews works with the surgeon who did my surgery, Dr. Stanley
Klein. Dr. Andrews is truly wonderful and her book is great and has tons
of helpful information in it.
