Question:
should I switch surgeon?
Hi, I have gotten oapproved for surgery, but I am having problems finding a hospital that will accept my insurance. Here is the story: My surgeon is a "in network" with my insurance (blue cross/blue shield-federal), but here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana the only two hospitals known to do my surgy(Vista and Riverwest)--neither want to accept my insurance.....should I switch surgeon or sit around and wait on him to solve the problem....I am really anxious and don't know what to do? I am so ready for this surgery! Thanks everyone for your support! — trstears (posted on June 22, 2005)

You will have to switch Dr. It will take for ever to get a hospital in a
PPO network. Get your book out and find the closets hospital and Dr.
togehter that does the surgery and that your insurance will pay for. I used
Dr. John Price in Monroe, LA and St.Frances Medical Center. Dr. Price and
his office staff are wonderful. Best of luck.
