If you check the archives, you will find that this is very common among
post-ops. I believe our bodies are just taking a break and trying to
adjust. You've probably been on liquids (clear and full) during this time
and your body has not only been through the trauma of the surgery, but now,
due to hardly any caloric intake, thinks it is starving. Once you move on
to more variety in your foods and it gets easier to get in the liquids and
protein, it will pick up. Don't feel alone, we've all been there and we've
all went on to continue losing.
Good Luck.

This question has been asked over and over and over. Look in the library
for some great advice.

I'm in the same boat as you. I lost 5 lbs inn the hospital and lost nothing
for the next 3 weeks. Then I lost the 4th week a total of 7 lbs. Then it
stopped again. I'm now in week 6 and have lost 2 lbs so far. You could be
one of the 25% that looses little or no weight the 1st month like me. It is
very frustrating! But as long as you get in your water, protein, and
exersize,(walking) it will have to come off. I eat 750 calories a day. But
we all have different ways of healing after surgery. Your body is in shock
and wants to hold on to that fat. I know how you feel. Reading others who
loose 30-40-50 the 1st month. But we're not that way. Let your body heal
the 1st month and then when the Dr lets you exersize more, go for it. I am.
That may be why I have lost 2 lbs so far this week. This is advice and info
others have gave me, and I'm passing it on to you. There are alot of us out
there. Keep us posted as to how it goes over the next 2 months. I'll keep
you posted as to how it's working out for me. My thoughts are with you.

In your first year, you will probably hit about 4-5 platues... your body
just doesn't shed one single pound. Been there done that... but guess
what? We ALL go through it. If you are doing what the Dr says too, and
pushing your water and excercise as tolerable (at this point)... you will
do fine. The one thing this process has taught me is that your body does
what it wants to. I have been VERY disciplined and I had at least 5-6
periods of 2-3 weeks where the scale didn't move. and here I am at 13
months post-op and down 144 lbs. If you follow the rules, don't pay
attention to the scale!!! It will only lead to depression and frustration.

Please do yourself a favor - throw away the scales - they are your worst
enemy. My surgeon asks his patients to promiise him that they won't weigh
except at his office or at support group meetings. I complied with this
and was rewarded by big losses when I did weigh and by missing the plateaus
and the times when the losing slowed down. He assures us that if we follow
the after care plan that we will lose and he's right. All the scales do
for you is frustrate you. Get your measurements and measure about every
three to four weeks but give up the daily weighing.
