Question:
Tired In The Afternoon, Please look at my intake and tell me what is lacking?

I would like comments on what I seem to be missing. I get very tired in the afternoon. Breakfast -Vita4life and water Lunch - 1.5oz ham salad with finely ground almonds and finely chopped celery. I chew them real well too. Vita4life and water. Dinner - Finely ground tunasalad. I buy it and then put it in the chopper with spicy brown mustard and dill pickle relish. Snack - Sugar free jello and popsicle Water throughout the day. I also treat myself to an Atkins shake in between meals. I only take 2-3 oz at a time. I would like some comments because I have to make sure I stay healthy this time.    — snicklefritz (posted on June 7, 2003)

You didn't say what your b-fast is. The V4L--is that the vites or protein? Either way, I don't see enough protein in your day, esp for a man. Also, did not see reference to iron or calcium, over & above the V4L (if vites). And B12? Sublingually or by shot? When the mid-day sleepies hit, how much water have you had? and then finally, did you drink with or near your lunch?

Are you on meds? I am 9wks post op. I have been exhausted for 2 weeks. After discussing it with my doctor and watching my blood pressure for a week, we realized that I lost enough weight (37lbs) to stop taking one of my Blood Pressure meds. You may want to check your blood pressure even if you are not on meds and alert your doctor to your tiredness. I also had a problem with a weird form of dumping my3rd and 4th week post op. 30 min after drinking Isopure or Designer Whey I would need to take a nap. The Doc had me change protein drinks and voila - no more nap taking. Best wishes,
